- 1. In the interests of preserving the public visual amenity contributed by T1 to the character and appearance of the local and wider landscape. 2. T1 is healthy, showing good shape and form for its species and is a visually prominent feature within the local and wider landscape. 3. T1 is a remnant of the previous landscape, and will become of increasingly important historical interest. 4. The proposed works would create a cycle of poor management, exposing heartwood which would commence a process of internal decay. This would lead to a probable spiral of whole tree decline which would detract from the amenities of the area thereby failing to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the visual (treed) landscape.
