- Terrace wall to terrace SE of Oldway Mansion, including flight of steps and statue of Pan and Bacchus. c1907-1907, contemporary with the remodelling of Oldway Mansion (qv) for Paris Singer. Grounds laid out by A Duchesne, the leading French formal landscape architect. Concrete terrace wall; stone steps; white Italian marble statue. Deep battered retaining wall with a cornice below the balustraded parapet to the garden S of Oldway Mansion. The section of parapet wall above the steps has icicle rustication facing the south garden. 2 flights of steps lead down to the Italian garden. On the east side of the wall, between the flights of steps, a round-headed statue niche with a keyblock containing a small statue group of Pan and Bacchus.
