- ANCROFT A1 NU 04 SW (East side, off) 10/2 Broomhouse 22/12/69 Farmhousee GV II House. Mid C18 with slightly-later C18 range to rear. Porch altered and right bay extended forward 1857. Brick, earlier parts in irregular bond, later parts in English Garden Wall Bond; ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof. Double span. 2 storeys, 4 bays with rusticated quoins and ashlar plinth. Mid-C18 porch in 3rd bay given Tudor-style parapet and new cornice in 1857. 6-panel door in eared architrave with pulvinated frieze and cornice. The porch has rusticated quoins also. Left 3 bays have windows, with intermediate glazing bars removed, in architraves. Finely-moulded sill strings and cornice. Slightly-projecting broad right bay of 1871 replaces two bays of original 5-bay house. It has a 2-storey canted bay window. Many of the bricks and quoins re-used from the earlier walling. Gabled roof with splayed coping and renewed brick end stacks. Interior: 6-panel doors. Staircase with decorative cast-iron balusters. ,
