- ULGHAM ULGHAM VILLAGE NZ 29 SW 7/79 Ulgham Hall (formerly listed as Ulgham Grange) 20.10.69 II House, early C18 remodelling of earlier fabric. Stone rubble ground floor brick above, rendered; slate roof. South (garden) elevation 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Applied quoins. Central 12-pane stair window flanked by C20 French windows in older openings; renewed 12-pane sashes above. Upper stair window C20 6-pane casement in old opening. Coped gables with kneelers; brick end stacks, that to right on old stone base. Outshut to rear has tumbled-in brickwork on returns. Interior: ground-floor fireplace with brick jambs and chamfered oak lintel. Open-well stair of c.1720 with column balusters, ramped moulded grip handrail and carved tread ends. 2-panel doors with old fittings to 1st floor and attic. The Hall is thought to occupy the site of a medieval Hospitaller property associated with Chibburn preceptory. ,
