Sandstone. Socket stone 0.6 metre by 0.5 metre with chamfered upper edge and rectangular socket; unshaped boulder alongside inscribed WHITECROSS HOWL. The cross is said to mark the 1665 burial of Denwick's plague victims; it may have been a medieval piece re-used. ,
