description
This was originally Thakeham Rectory. It is a fairly large house of several periods. The original portion was timber-framed but was enlarged in the late C17, also in the C18, & it has been since modernised. It is faced with red brick red mathematical tiles, weather tiles, stone & stucco in different places. Horsham slab roof. Two gables to the south front & 2 shaped gables between these. Modern casement windows. Two storeys 4 windows. A panel by the door has the date 1664 on it. At the west end is a long wing which was originally the stables & has been converted into part of the house. This probably dates from the C18 & is of coursed sandstone with a tiled roof. Two storeys six windows to this wing.
